As a wholly Nigerian owned indigenous firm in the oil and gas industry, MEGASHORE OILFIELD SERVICES LIMITED considers itself a primary stakeholder in the fulfillment of the National Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act. 2010 (NCD Act).
MEGASHORE will therefore do everything possible to cooperate with other operators and the government through its appointed regulators, in particular, the Nigerian Content Monitoring Board to realize the noble aims of the Act.
We will without reservation ensure compliance with all the provisions of the Act in all its operations and in all its ramifications. In pursuance of the above, our NCD plan for any specific contract/project will ensure compliance with section 10 of the law, to the effect that exclusive or first consideration will be given to services from within Nigeria and to goods manufactured/sourced locally (section 10(1)a).
Also in accordance with section 10(1)b of the Act, Nigerians will be given exclusive or first consideration for training and employment in the work programme of the NCD plan specific to any project.
In accordance with section 11 of the Act, MEGASHORE will always ensure that at least the minimum Nigerian content as stipulated in the schedule of the Act is complied with our works
In its NCD plan for any project, we will ensure the use of locally manufactured goods where such goods meet specifications of the industry (section 13).
Currently MEGASHORE employs no expatriates but if and when it is obliged to do so the company will ensure that a Nigerian understudies such expatriate in every such instance in accordance with the stipulation in section 31 of the Act.
We maintain offices within the communities of our operations and will continue to do so in all its operations in accordance with section 27 of the Act. When a foreign partner is engaged, we ensure such partner complies with all the pertinent sections of the Act.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the Act specifically mention above, MEGASHORE will comply with all the provisions of the Act and will readily comply with any other additional provisions or directives from the Minister, the Board or any other regulatory authority in pursuant of the provisions of the Act.
